This movie was target on the film A Space Odyssey 2001' and there is hardly any characters development in the plot scene. It is symbolism as well as  deeper meaning behind some of the soundtrack sounds like  Star Wars themes with many other topics. This actually film was made in 1968 by Stanley Kubrick and it was inspired by the earlier generations film similar as 'Metropolis'. The concept of this film really shows the probably inspired such as Star Trek and Star Wars movie theme. The machines and his achieved his special effects and there is not a single moment in this long film, when the audience cane see through the props. The stars in the movie shows it look like stars and outer space is bold and bleak

The craftsmanship of the models was also ground breaking and it visually the scene is very hard to read and understand like if you are on drugs was  probably what the scene was inspired by. It was in the 1960s and by the drugs and "Tripping" was quite common, It means Lysergic acid diethylamide, better known as LSD helped make the sixties what it was. Kubrick's vision was for this movie the year 2001 holds up reasonably well to considering its 1960's perspective. This is due in on small part, to the dedication and passion that hardware designers Fred Ordway and Harry Lange brought to the film.

Fig 3 Space Suit

They are two types of space suit appeared in the film for example one for lunar ops, the other one for deep space ops. The main differences between the two types are colours description ( the lunar suits are all silver with white helmets, while Discovery's deep space suits are all on colour and appears to be custom fitted to the specific crew members) and backpacks the deep space suits feature a small thruster at the bottom of the PLSS).

Fig 4: 'HAL'

HAL is a supercomputer  that can think for itself, in other words he is an AI (Artificial Intelligence).  Kubbrick's 1968 film is called the paint them in a rotten light. Compare HAL to his less conniving, more benign counterparts, Interstellar's TARS or Iron Man's JARVIS. It means corrupts and make it decision that he thinks will make a good decision, preserving himself so that the mission can be completed. The technology HAL corruption is very interesting notification how is a shape like the monolith, tall, black and sleek.

  1. Hi Dinesh,

Don't forget that you need to include at least 3 quotes in your review, which will help you discuss the various themes more in depth. I see you have been looking at Roger Ebert's review... that is good. What you need to do, is find a part of his review that backs up what you are discussing and use that as the quote. This is then referenced directly after the quote like this (Ebert,1997)
